    Default Triangle method

I have just looked at the evaluations tool form from the Jeffco schools in Colorado. Our district's keyboarding web age has a link to this siteIt states:
"Using the Triangle method by glancing at the monitor down at the keyboard, over at the text, then copying text."
I first thought it was something they shouldn't do. But the it seems to imply they are supposed to do it.
I am confused. Are you familiar with this technique? I tried a web serach and didn't find anything.
    Thanks
    Mr. B

    Mr. B.

You are correct in that the "Triangle Method" is something to avoid. The idea behind the option to black out the timing screen is that by not being able to see what is being typed it will break this triangle and the student will be left focusing on the book.
